Tyrone Vs Derry – 2012 Ulster GAA Minor Football Championship

Tyrone minors progressed to the 2012 Ulster Final on Saturday after a comprehensive 0-15 to 0-06 win over neighbours Derry. Unlike their first round game against Armagh which was full of action, excitement and goals, this game was played at a slower pace with a lot of stoppages in play throughout the game, especially in the first half when periods of up to 6-7 mins went by without me taking any photos.

However, Mickey Donnelly and the Tyrone boys did what needed to be done against a highly fancied Derry side and they put in a very good team performance with some solid play from goalkeeper Daire Martin, James Mc Gahan, man-of-the-match Mark Bradley, captain Padraig Hampsey and Conor Mallon to name a few.

Next up for Tyrone is the Ulster Minor Final on the 22 July against Monaghan…. my cousin Ryan plays on the forward line in that team so there will be plenty of craic in the family over the next few weeks!

Below are some of my favourite photos from the game;
