Stewartstown Vs Kildress – 2013 Tyrone GAA Intermediate Club Championship

Stewartstown Harps defied the odds and progressed to the quarter finals of the Tyrone IFC after a fine victory over Kildress Wolfe Tones in Edendork on Sunday.

They got off to the perfect start when Gareth Devlin scored in a goal in the opening couple of minutes. After further Harps points, Kildress were awarded a penalty in the first half which Martin Grimes converted and Kildress went in at HT one point down; 1-04 to 1-03.

The second half was again evenly matched and it was a tight encounter. Stewartstown kept the lead however thanks to scores from Gareth Devlin and Peter Armour while Frank McGurk added points for Kildress. It was a tense last 10 minutes but the Stewartstown defence held out for a 3 point victory.

Full time score; Stewartstown Harps 1-11 Kildress 1-08.
