Killeeshil Vs Loughmacrory – 2013 Tyrone GAA Junior Club Championship Final

My good neighbours of Killeeshil St Mary’s defied the odds on Sunday afternoon in Healy Park, Omagh and became Tyrone Junior champions of 2013 after defeating Loughmacrory in an exciting game of football.

A torrential shower of rain began at the throw in of the game which caused further slippy conditions for the players. In a low scoring game, scores from Kevin Hughes and Packie Mc Mullan gave Killeeshil the lead but a Niall Grimes Loughmacrory goal gave them a one point advantage at HT.

Fifteen seconds into the second half, Killeeshil corner forward Rory McCann struck the ball into the net and he added further points to sway the game to their advantage. Loughmacrory will be thinking of the chances they put wide today and as all fifteen Loughmacrory men piled forward into the Killeeshil square for 2 late free kicks, they couldn’t find that winning goal and Seamus McCallan’s side won by 2 points. Well done to this up and coming young team next year in Intermediate football.

Full times score; Killeeshil 1-08 Loughmacrory 1-06.

Below are my photos from the game.
