Galbally Vs Rock

On Saturday, Galbally Pearses took on the Rock in the NI Power Intermediate Championship, quarter final in Coalisland.

This was an exciting and open game of football from the very start and Galbally claimed a semi-final place with the minimum to spare. A wet and slippery surface made play difficult for both teams in the opening half following a heavy shower of rain and it was Galbally that went in 0-06 to 0-05 up at half time.

In the second half, Galbally surprisingly only scored twice (both in the first 5 minutes) compared to Rock’s six scores but most importantly, Galbally’s two scores were two goals and as we all know, goals win games! Galbally went for 25 minutes without scoring again while Rock steadily clawed their way back but time was against Rock and they were eventually beaten by the clock. Final Score; Galbally 2-06 Rock 0-11.

Galbally breathed a huge sigh of relief as they really were on the back foot for most of the second half but they did enough to earn a semi-final tie against Stewartstown Harps. Well done to the Pearses!
