Eglish Vs Greencastle – 2013 Tyrone GAA Senior Club Championship, First Round

The Tyrone senior club championship got underway on Friday night in Healy Park, Omagh with the first round tie between Eglish and Greencastle – two clubs that have had mixed fortunes in the league so far this year.

In a quiet first half, neither team shone and after each side hit a few wides they both went in at HT 0-03 apiece.

Eglish moved into a higher gear in the second half however with Brendan Donnelly, Ryan and Conor Mc Kenna and Peter Mc Cann excelling in the attacking third of the field. They were soon rewarded with a goal from Greg Jordan and then a second fisted goal from Damien Jordan. Greencastle did strike a series of late points towards the end of the game but it was Eglish that emerged comfortable winners and they have progressed to the quarter final stages of the senior championship.

Full time score; Eglish 2-10 Greencastle 0-11.
