Edendork Vs Derrylaughan

The second round of Tyrone ACL games took place at the weekend and I went to the Division 1 encounter between Edendork and Derrylaughan.

Edendork got off to a strong start when Harry Og Conlon scored a goal in the opening 30 seconds and Stephen Gervin added a second goal before half time to go in with a comfortable 2-03 to 0-02 lead over Derrylaughan Kevin Barrys.

A rejuvenated Derrylaughan side came out in the second half and a few points in quick succession in the opening 5 minutes saw them reduce the Dork lead to 3 points. The decision making of referee Martin Sludden clearly added to Edendork’s frustration as Derrylaughan continued to add scores from free kicks and then level the scoreline. Two red cards later and a growing sense of confidence amongst the Loughshore men saw them take the lead and then eventually win on a scoreline of 2-07 to 0-15.

It’s back to the county scene next weekend for me hopefully as Tyrone play Kildare in the NFL Division 2 final in Croker!!
