Dromore Vs Eglish – 2012 Tyrone GAA Senior Championship

Dromore started the defence to their 2011 Tyrone Senior Football Championship title with a first round tie against Eglish in Carrickmore. Like last weekend’s Carrickmore Vs Trillick game in Fintona, the light was beginning to fade fast after the 7.30pm throw in so I only stayed for the first half of the game.

Dromore looked to be comfortably ahead at half time with a 1-5 to 0-03 lead over the Magpies with scores coming from Conor O’Neill and Niall Sludden. It took Eglish a considerable time to get their opening score of the game but eventually got up and going with scores from Pete Mc Cann and Gregory Jordan.

I hear the second half was a lot closer affair but Dromore held on for a 2-9 to 1-9 victory and they progress on to meet old adversaries Ardboe in the quarter final.
