Club Tyrone Night, Garvaghey Tyrone GAA Centre

Last Thursday night, Club Tyrone held one of their main nights in their calendar in the new centre of Tyrone GAA, the Garvaghey complex.

In previous years the event was held just down the road at Kelly’s Inn during which they would have listened to the updates of the Garvaghey centre both in terms of the building process and the finances. This year however, the centre is now roughly 90% complete which meant they could have the night inside the centre for the first time. There was a huge crowd in attendance, made up mainly of the Club Tyrone patrons (who have subscribed £5000 over 5 years to the centre), as well as other club and school representatives from across the county.

Also, like previous years, the starting fifteen players to take on Donegal in the first round of the Ulster senior Championship was announced by Mickey Harte and then the 2013 Tyrone Club Championship draw took place live in front of a packed audience.

All in all, it was a busy and fantastic night – the Garvaghey centre is looking state of the art already and with the official opening happening on the 28th September this year, no doubt it will be even bigger and better by then….. and what an opening it will be!

Below is just a snippet of what the centre looks like and the various events from throughout the night.
