Killeeshil Vs Killyman – 2013 Tyrone GAA Junior Club Championship, Semi Final

Killeeshil have made it to another Tyrone JFC final after their well deserved 4 point win over Killyman in Dungannon on Sunday afternoon.

In a fairly even first half with Killeeshil’s Shane Mallon and Killyman’s Enda Mc Gahan both getting their name on the scoresheets, it was Killeeshil St Mary’s that made the breakthrough in the first half when Eoghan Donaghy struck a well worked goal. Kevin Hughes, Packie McMullan and Shane Mallon continued to add scores onto the board and after a late red card in the Killyman team, Killeeshil cruised into another final.

Seamus McCallan’s side will be hoping to avoid the disappointment of the 2011 final defeat to Derrytresk but they will be very much the underdogs against title favourites Loughmacrory. We’ll know all by the 20th October.

Full time score; Killeeshil 1-11 Killyman 0-10.

Aghaloo Vs Killyman – 2012 Tyrone Junior Football Championship

Aghaloo took on Killyman in the first round of the 2012 Power NI Tyrone Junior Championship in Eglish on Friday evening. Both these teams were evenly matched on paper and a landslide victory from either side was never on the cards.

Aghaloo found the back of the net early into the game when Stephen Donnelly was left unmarked allowing him to take the ball around the goalkeeper to put them 2 points ahead. Killyman struck back with points from Enda Mc Gahan and Caolan Morgan but Aghaloo had the chance to go in with a 3 point lead at the break if they had converted a penalty on the stroke of half time; Aghaloo 1-02 Killyman 0-05.

The Blackwater boys played the better football in the second half but often failed to convert this into scores. However points from Tiernan Donnelly and Gerard Mc Caughey were enough to see them progress to the next round with a 2 point margin. Full time score; Aghaloo 1-07 Killyman 0-08.

Loughmacrory Vs Killyman

Sunday afternoon saw the first of four Tyrone club championship games that I would attend in one day. O’Neill Park, home of Dungannon Thomas Clarkes, was the venue for the Tyrone Intermediate Championship tie between Loughmacrory and last year’s Junior champions, Killyman. It was a fine afternoon for football although an extra layer of clothing is a must  for photographing football matches for the rest of 2011.

Underdogs Killyman started strongly and went into a  0-04 to 0-01 lead after 10 minutes. But the men from Loughmacrory soon found their gear and went in at half time 1-06 to 0-05 …….. and to further add to the Killyman woes, they were reduced to 14 men after Sean Donnelly picked up a second booking.

Loughmacrory’s control in the second half continued as it finished at the end of the first as Stephen Donaghy scored two goals to effectively the game as a contest although Killyman did score a late consolation goal. Final score; Loughmacrory 3-11 Killyman 1-10.

Here are some images from the game.
