Carrickmore Vs Moy – 2013 Tyrone GAA Senior Club Championship, Semi Final

Moy made it to their first semi finals of the Tyrone SFC in over 50 years on Saturday and their opponents were one of the title favourites, Carrickmore.

The match took place in sunny conditions in Pomeroy although there was the occasional breeze which made shooting difficult. In a tame enough first half, Carrickmore took in a 4 point lead thanks to a goal on the stroke of HT from Martin Penrose. Moy pulled the game back to a single point with 15 minutes remaining with some tremendous play and shooting from Sean Cavanagh but at the other end of the field Mark Donnelly bagged a second goal for Carmen and Paul McAleer finished the game with a third goal.

Perhaps the final score doesn’t reflect how much of an entertaining game it was but no one could argue with who the better team was.

Full time score: Carrickmore 3-09 Moy 0-09.

Carrickmore are now the first side through to this year’s Tyrone SFC Final, their first final since 2010.
