Carrickmore Vs Errigal Ciaran

It was a fine, dry day in Carrickmore on Sunday for photographs and the Tyrone ACL Division 1 game between rivals Carmen and Errigal Ciaran. As Carrickmore have recently resown their main pitch that holds the famous Nally Stand from Croke Park, the training pitch is currently being used for all games.

Carrickmore (under new manager Dominic Corrigan) and Errigal Ciaran (under new manager Ronan Mc Guckin) provided an entertaining and physical game of football for the crowd. It was Errigal Ciaran that got off to the much brighter start with a Peter Harte goal and points from Darren Canavan and Thomas Canavan. However, Mark Donnelly struck back with a goal of his own and left only 2 points between the sides at H.T. Carrickmore; 1-04 Errigal Ciaran 1-06.

Errigal again continued to produce the better football in the second half and continued to dominate in midfield with Enda Mc Ginley catching a lot of ball. Tempers flared momentarily when a brief scuffle between Ciaran Fox and Michael Mc Crory resulted in 2 straight red cards but it looked to be Errigal’s day when Ronan Mc Crory put them 3 points ahead. That’s wasn’t the end of the script for Carmen though as a good run by Caolan Daly and fist pass into the square saw Barry Daly bundle the ball into the net past John Devine for an injury time equaliser. Full time score; Carrickmore 2-08 Errigal Ciaran 1-11.

Errigal Ciaran will be disappointed with how they let their solid play and lead throughout the game slip while Carrickmore will be relieved to have grabbed a point.

Below are some of my action photos from the game….
