Carrickmore Vs Cookstown – 2013 Tyrone GAA Senior Club Championship, First Round

Carrickmore took on Cookstown Fr Rocks in one of the pick of the Tyrone SFC ties on Friday night in Omagh.

It was Brian Gormley’s Carrickmore side that started the strongest, racing into a 0-06 to 0-00 lead in the first 20 minutes with scores coming from Barry Daly, Mark Donnelly and Michael Gallagher. Owen Mulligan opened Cookstown’s scoring account and they went in at HT 5 points down…. 0-07 to 0-02. The All-Ireland Intermediate champions came out stronger in the second half though and they clawed their way back into the game with points from Conor O’Hare, Raymond Mulgrew and John Gilmore but despite some great runs at the Carmen defence, they could never hit the back of the net.

Carrickmore held on with late points from Mark Donnelly and Martin Penrose and they will meet Coalisland next Friday night.

Full time score; Carrickmore 0-11 Cookstown Fr Rocks 0-06.
