Ardboe Vs Clonoe

It was back to Tyrone club football at the weekend for me and I travelled down to Ardboe for their Division 1 clash woth Clonoe O’Rahillys.

This was an evenly balanced game for two of the leading teams in Division 1 at this early stage and both sides held the lead at various stages of the match. Clonoe went in the stronger at half time with a goal just before the whistle from Danny Mc Nulty to give them a 1-06 to 0-04 lead.

Fay Devlin’s Ardboe side made a strong start to the second half however and a penalty strike from Michael Hagan put them back into the game and they were soon 1-07 to 1-06 up. Ardboe looked to have sealed the game when they pulled ahead 1-10 to 1-08 with 5 minutes left but a few too many fouls in the closing stages resulted in referee Martin Sludden awarding Clonoe two vital free kicks both of which were converted to seal a deserved draw from the game. Final score; Ardboe 1-10 Clonoe 1-10.

Brian Mc Guigan momentarily loses possession for Ardboe.
