Eskra Vs Truagh – 2013 Ulster GAA Intermediate Club Championship Final

Tyrone champions Eskra took on Monaghan side Truagh in the Ulster Intermediate championship final on Saturday night in Armagh in my final football match for 2013.

Eskra took an early lead in the game but Truagh soon found their form through their forwards Christopher and Daniel Mc Kenna. The border club proved troublesome throughout the game and Eskra failed to find their flow and they never hit the Championship form they had been hitting all year. Eskra battled in the last few minutes to get the ball into the back of the net but it wasn’t to be as Truagh finished up 5 point winners.

Full time score; Eskra 0-12 Truagh 0-17.

Killeeshil Vs Emyvale – 2013 Ulster GAA Junior Club Championship Final

On Saturday night, the Ulster Junior football final took place in the Athletics Grounds, Armagh between Tyrone champions Killeeshil St Marys and Monaghan champions Emyvale – two teams I know very well with many friends in the Killeeshil club and family ties with Emyvale.

Killeeshil took an early lead in the opening 15 minutes with Gary Reilly knocking over points for the hoops but the Emyvale struck back in the last 10 minutes of the half scoring 1-02 to take a 1-03 to 0-03 lead in at half time. In an exciting second half, both teams battled for possession but it was Emyvale who had the edge in midfield. Killeeshil had chances to pull the score back level but points from David McAllister and Daithi Colton ensured Emyvale maintained their lead and despite a late rally from Killeeshil to get the ball into the back of the net in the last few minutes, it was Emyvale who were crowned Ulster Junior champions. Well done to them and good luck in the All-Ireland series.

Full time score; Emyvale 1-06 Killeeshil 0-06.
