Tyrone Vs Mayo- 2013 GAA All-Ireland Senior Championship, Semi Final

Tyrone’s run in the 2013 All Ireland football championship series ended on Sunday following a 6 point defeat to Connaught champions Mayo.┬áThere was a lot of build up to Sunday’s semi final and although Tyrone’s form hadn’t been brilliant, many believed that they could at least make an All Ireland final or perhaps even go all the way and repeat the success of 2003, 2005 and 2008.

Tyrone started the strongest and took an early lead following points from Mc Ginley, Mc Aliskey and Mc Curry. However they were dealt with the major double blow of losing their two key men Peter Harte and Stephen O’Neill in the first half to injury. Soon after, Mayo crept back into the game following some excellent scores from Chris Barrett and Tyrone’s 4 point lead in the first half was soon reduced to 1. Half time score; Tyrone 0-07 Mayo 0-06.

Mayo’s luck continued in the second half when referee Maurice Deegan awarded them a penalty which was converted by Alan Freeman. A series of points followed and Tyrone gradually started to lose grip of the game despite a number of changes from the bench. Sean Cavanagh, Aidan Cassidy and Kyle Coney notched on a few scores more but it was too late as the final whistle blew and Mayo progressed to another All Ireland final.

Full time score; Tyrone 0-13 Mayo 1-16.

Hopefully Tyrone can bounce back again in 2014 and make another stab at taking Sam Maguire back over the border.

The football year is by no means over here however with many clubs ready to get down to action in the Tyrone club championships. See tuned in here to see many of the big games that I will be snapping at over the next few weeks.

Coalisland Vs Moy – 2013 Tyrone GAA ACL Division 1

Last weekend the Tyrone ACL resumed after all the county action and I attended the Coalisland Vs Moy Division 1 game.

It was a tight game throughout and it was Moy who had the upper hand at half time taking in a 0-05 to 1-04 lead with the advantage of the breeze. The second half continued in the same vain but an unfortunate goal keeping error from Moy resulted in the Fianna scoring a goal to take the lead which they then never let slip.

Full time score; Coalisland 1-10 Moy 1-07.

Our Honeymoon Vacation – Las Vegas, Hawaii and San Francisco!

For the people who click in regularly to see photos of the latest GAA action in Tyrone, things have been very quiet here for over 2 months now….. the reason for this is I got married back in the middle of July and all GAA and photography commitments took a back seat while I got ready for that. And while Tyrone were on the qualifiers road down south, I was on honeymoon to the west coast of the USA specifically┬áLas Vegas, Hawaii and San Francisco.

So here are a few photos from this once in a lifetime trip, I would highly recommend it to anyone….
